I teach Yoga because I believe strongly in the benefits of self-care and enjoy supporting others in the time they set aside for it. I love that I can be a part of others' self-care and self-love through Yoga practice.

I believe in laughter and Yoga for health and well-being. I believe in kindness and connecting with others. I find inspiration in nature and the human spirit and love to share inspiration and time with others through Yoga.

I've been teaching Yoga for over 10 years and love that I get the chance to interact with so many people in a self-care setting.

My first 200 hour Hatha training, in 2009, opened the door to 100 hours in Power Vinyasa, 300 hours in Tibetan Heart Yoga, 650 hours of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, 90 hours in Blissology with Eoin Finn and many other trainings including Prenatal, Seniors and Yoga Nidra. Most recently, I completed a training focused on Yoga and Psyche and a 21-day Nervous System course.

I love giving detailed instruction in class, so you can practice with your eyes closed if you want, and leaving some space for you to explore your own movement. My classes will have you connecting with your body on a physical level and more subtle level. You may end up giggling at some point as I will too. You will definitely get in a good dose of self-care and relaxation no matter what style of class it is, and you will be encouraged to be kind to yourself throughout with many options offered to serve you.

What others have to say...

What I love about Alissa is her calm, smiley demeanour. It really helps set the tone in taking her class as I am one of those people who arrive at yoga rushed and frazzled. Alissa puts all that at ease instantly. Alissa offers so much as my practice and body changes offering hatha, vinyasa, core, pre and post natal and even laughter yoga. We are very blessed to have an inspiration like Alissa in our community.

Every time I attend Alissa’s class, I become extremely relaxed and my anxiety disappears for a while. Alissa has a great ability to help us take care of our body, mind and emotions all at once. I find her teaching heals me each time. She makes me feel very comfortable and happy. Thank you, Alissa, for your awesome and powerful energy.

Alissa’s Restorative Yoga Class has been a godsend to me:) I have chronic neck and back pain which is the result of numerous car accidents over the years. Alissa’s class helps me unwind both my mind and the tension I hold in my body due to these physical injuries as well as emotional trauma. Her peaceful and nurturing presence and energy is calming and healing to be around. I look forward to her class every week as the only good night’s sleep I ever get is when I’ve been to one of her classes.

Alissa provides a place of zen like no other. I’ve found comfort in her Hatha and prenatal classes and often feel very enlightened by her messages, thoughts and feelings. I am so much more aware of myself, my surroundings and she has helped me get through many stresses in my life so far. Every single class I learn something new from her and feel very blessed to have such a great yoga teacher.
