Expand Your Perspective

Are you needing a shift in perspective? Do you need a few minutes to yourself?

Mind if I join you? ;)

Call me crazy, but I love to support others in taking time for self-care. I know how important it is, so I've made a short (2 minute) recording to support you in shifting or expanding your perspective.

Looking at the sky is a great way to do that as it takes us out of the shortsighted world of our busyness, troubles and stuckness (if that's not a word, it should be). It literally expands our horizons and helps us look at the bigger picture when looking into the sky.

"You are the sky. Everything else - it's just the weather."  ~Pema Chodron

If you're unable to listen to the recording right now, then feel free to read the transcript below and leave comments... I love to hear from you.

Hey you. How are you? Truthfully. How are you, right now?

Now that you've noticed... perhaps grab a set of headphones if you haven't already. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath... and another. In through your nose and let it out through your mouth. Good, now start to visualize, bring to mind from memory, deep blue sky. Wide open, not a single cloud, blue sky. You can do it. Hopefully, you've seen one recently. Either way, it's there in your memory. Keep building it, seeing it. Blue sky. Breathe deep. Notice any shifts or changes. Another falling out breath if you need it.

You can change your perspective. You can do it by visualizing. You can do it by breathing. You can do it by looking out the window or up at the sky. Continue to see blue sky and if it helps, let a bird fly by (side note: visualizing with motion can make it easier). Notice the feel of your body where you are, as you are. Notice your breath again. Good, take one more big breath... and then blink your eyes a few times. Go back to your day, refreshed, and enjoy.

Thank you for sharing your time and practice this way.
